About the position

The Helix School is seeking a dynamic and experienced Substitute Special Education Teacher to support autistic children in grades K through Transition. This part-time role focuses on providing a safe and nurturing environment that fosters the development of students' skills, awareness, and social abilities through a tailored integrated curriculum.

Responsibilities

• Work with head teacher, Counselor, Speech Therapist, Social-Emotional Learning Specialist, and/or Occupational Therapist for 1:1 delivery of special education plans and daily instruction.
• Assist the head teacher and others on the student's team in preparing and presenting academic plans.
• Provide behavioral support to students when needed.
• Collect data as needed under the direction of teachers and therapists.

Requirements

• 2 years of experience working with children, preferably in special education.
• Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team.
• Experience in hands-on teaching delivery.
