Beach Cities Learning is seeking a Substitute Teacher to support students with emotional and behavioral needs in Manhattan Beach, CA. Responsibilities

• Provide therapeutic interventions and de-escalation techniques for students with emotional and behavioral needs.
• Deliver instruction in the absence of the regular educator.
• Collaborate with behavior technicians to manage classroom behavior and implement interventions.
• Maintain student records and documentation as needed.
• Follow a school schedule and work variable days/hours.
• Receive feedback and mentoring from peers and supervisors.
• Maintain a professional perspective and manage emotional responses to student behaviors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Active and valid Substitute or other Education teaching certificate issued by California State Department of Education.
• Experience working with emotional and/or behaviorally challenged students preferred.
• PCMA certification is a plus but not required.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a special education setting.
• Training in crisis management interventions.
