About the position

The Substitute Teacher Aide will assist certified teachers in their teaching functions by performing non-teaching duties. This role is essential in supporting the educational environment by managing records, materials, and equipment, as well as attending to the physical needs of students under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Responsibilities

• Managing records, materials, and equipment.
• Attending to the physical needs of children.
• Supervising students and performing non-teaching duties as determined and supervised by the teacher.

Requirements

• Graduation from high school or possession of an equivalency diploma.
• One (1) year of full-time or part-time paid or volunteer equivalent experience working in a clerical capacity.
• One (1) year of full-time or part-time paid or volunteer equivalent experience working with children.
• Possession of a certificate of completion of a course of Child Care through an occupational school, The American Red Cross, or similar agency.
• A combination of experience as defined by the limits of (A), (B), and (C) above.

Nice-to-haves

• Successful completion of one (1) year of college education beyond high school (minimum of 30 semester college credit hours) may be substituted for the one (1) year of experience.
