About the position

Teachers On Call, a Kelly Education Company, is seeking substitute teachers and paraprofessionals for the 2024-2025 school year. This role offers flexible opportunities, allowing individuals to create their own schedules while positively impacting the education of students in their local communities. Candidates will have the chance to work in various capacities, including day-to-day, long-term, and building substitute positions, depending on their qualifications and preferences.

Responsibilities

• Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
• Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher's existing lesson plans.
• Teach students on a variety of classroom topics/courses.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
• Empower students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Adapt to the various learning styles of students.
• For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments.
• Provide classroom assistance to the district/school teacher and support to general education or special needs students.
• Ensure adequate supervision of students and classroom environment to assure health, welfare, and safety of students.
• Assist students in transition to and from classrooms, as needed.
• Understand, address, and be attuned to the needs of each student, recognizing differences in their abilities and cognitive levels.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED for paraprofessional positions.
• Bachelor's degree with MN Teaching or Substitute License for substitute teacher positions.
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language fluently and effectively.
• No experience necessary; training is provided.
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
