About the position

We are hiring for Substitute Teachers for Elmwood Park Community Unit School District #401 in Elmwood Park, Illinois! As a substitute teacher, you will assume the duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with the school district's lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies. This includes leading instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher's existing lesson plans, instructing students on various topics, building positive relationships, assigning reasonable tasks and homework, motivating students to learn, and encouraging classroom participation. You will also be responsible for creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students. Additionally, you may need to adapt to the various learning styles of students and, for long-term assignments, develop lesson plans, as well as create, administer, and grade tests and assignments.

Responsibilities

  • Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
  • Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher's existing lesson plans.
  • Instruct students on a variety of classroom topics/courses.
  • Build positive relationships with students.
  • Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
  • Motivate students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Adapt to the various learning styles of students.
  • For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans, create, administer, and grade tests and assignments.

Requirements

  • 60 college credit hours or an Associate's degree.
