About the position
The Substitute Teacher position is designed to provide continuity of education for high school students during the absence of their regular teacher. This role is on an on-call basis, requiring the teacher to implement lesson plans, maintain classroom routines, and ensure a conducive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Take attendance and implement lesson plans for the assigned class.
- Stand outside the classroom during passing periods to greet students and ensure hallways are clear.
- Maintain normal classroom routines and discipline procedures.
- Complete an assignment report for the teacher regarding class accomplishments and any issues that arose.
Requirements
- Valid CA Teaching Credential (Single or Multiple Subject) OR 30-Day Substitute Teaching Permit.
- Access to a laptop or desktop computer, email, and internet.
Nice-to-haves
- Successful substitute teaching experience.
