About the position

The Substitute Teacher at Argosy Collegiate Charter School is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and assessments to support students' academic achievement in a college preparatory environment. This role emphasizes flexibility, collaboration, and effective communication to foster a positive learning atmosphere while adhering to the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks. The teacher will engage in co-teaching models and utilize data-driven strategies to meet diverse student needs, ensuring all scholars are prepared for college and career success.

Responsibilities

• Create and execute rigorous daily lesson plans aligned to MA Common Core Frameworks.
• Utilize a range of data sources to drive instruction and develop responsive lesson plans.
• Implement Individual Education Plans, 504 plans, and EL strategies to support scholars' academic goals.
• Engage with families in a culturally responsive manner to foster collaboration and involvement.
• Create a positive and achievement-oriented classroom environment based on high expectations.
• Attend and actively engage in all professional development and planning meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in education or content area (required) or Master's degree in education or related fields (preferred).
• 3+ years of work experience in education (preferred).
• Completion of the MTELs in Communication and Literacy and in the content area by the end of the first year of employment.
• SEI endorsement by the end of the first year of employment.
• Experience accommodating and modifying curriculum for diverse learners.

Nice-to-haves

• Teaching experience in an urban or charter school setting.
• Knowledge of state and federal compliance regulations.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
