About the position

As a Flex Teacher at Phalen Leadership Academies (PLA), you will play a crucial role in fostering a supportive and effective learning environment for our scholars. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with each teacher of record to ensure that all students master the academic and social skills necessary for their success. This position requires a deep commitment to setting ambitious goals for student achievement and holding scholars accountable for reaching those goals. You will be expected to assist in creating a nurturing classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and growth. In the event of a teacher vacancy, you will be prepared to step in as the teacher of record, demonstrating flexibility and leadership in your role. The key deliverables for this position include ensuring that 100% of scholars meet their projected growth goals in both English Language Arts (ELA) and Math, achieving an 85% satisfaction rate on classroom surveys, maintaining a 90% persistence rate of scholars throughout the academic year, and achieving a 95% average daily attendance rate. Additionally, you will aim for 1.5 years of growth for each scholar who is not performing at grade level. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with teachers of record to support student learning and achievement.

• Step in as the teacher of record if a vacancy arises.
• Track and analyze student data to inform instruction and drive improvement.

Requirements

• A passion for working with students and families in underserved communities.
• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university, with appropriate endorsements if applicable.
• Valid State Teacher License or enrollment in a credentialing program.
• Effective pedagogical skills driven by standards and data-driven assessment.
• Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction.
