The Flex Teacher at Phalen Leadership Academies is responsible for supporting classroom instruction and ensuring that all scholars achieve their academic and social goals. This role involves collaborating with teachers of record, setting ambitious goals for student achievement, and potentially stepping into a teacher vacancy when needed. The position emphasizes a commitment to nurturing a caring environment for students in underserved communities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setting ambitious goals for student achievement.
• Hold scholars accountable for accomplishing their academic and social goals.
• Work with each teacher of record to support classroom instruction.
• Ensure that 100% of scholars meet their projected growth goals for ELA and Math.
• Achieve 85% scholar satisfaction on classroom surveys.
• Maintain 90% scholar persistence through the academic year.
• Ensure 95% average daily scholar attendance.
• Support scholars not performing on grade level to achieve 1.5 years of growth.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Valid State Teacher License or enrollment in a credentialing program.
• Effective pedagogical skills driven by standards and data-driven assessment.
• Experience tracking and using data to drive instruction.
• A passion for working with students and families in underserved communities.
