About the position

The Substitute Teacher position at Johannesburg-Lewiston Schools, in partnership with ESS/willSub, is designed for individuals ready to make a significant impact on education. This role involves stepping in for regular teachers during their absence, ensuring that the educational program continues smoothly. Substitute teachers will follow lesson plans, assist students in understanding the material, and maintain classroom routines, thereby playing a crucial role in the educational team.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while regular teacher is absent
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration

Requirements

• Completion of at least 60 college/university credit hours
• FBI Criminal History Clearance
• A Michigan Substitute Teaching Permit (ESS will apply for one on your behalf)

Nice-to-haves

• Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
