About the position

The Substitute Teacher plays a vital role in maintaining the educational mission of the New Milford School District by stepping in for regular teachers during their absence. This position not only allows for the refinement of teaching skills but also provides a unique opportunity to foster a positive and enriching learning environment for students. Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while the regular teacher is absent.
• Review and implement the regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.
• Perform additional duties as directed by school administration.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree or Higher
• Proficient in English (speaking, reading, writing)
