About the position

Ombudsman Educational Services is seeking On-call Substitute Teachers to join their dynamic team. The role focuses on increasing student achievement by implementing instructional practices and strategies in line with ChanceLight Education and Ombudsman policies. Responsibilities

• Delivering instruction using curriculum materials and educational software.
• Developing daily lesson plans and classroom schedules that meet state and school requirements.
• Collaborating with fellow teachers and support staff to provide instructional support and approved modifications to the curriculum.
• Implementing standards for student behavior to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
• Maintaining regular contact with students' parents/guardians regarding progress and any issues affecting school performance.
• Actively participating in team meetings to address specific student and parent concerns.
• Assessing student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems.
• Keeping up to date with research-based practices and developments in the subject area.
• Responding constructively to formal and informal feedback.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a related field.
• Meet all state substitute teacher licensing and/or certification requirements.
• Prior experience working in an alternative education and/or classroom setting preferred.
• Advanced oral and written communication skills.
• Instructional and curriculum development skills.
• Conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Advanced skills in working with students with diverse needs at various levels.
• Knowledge of relevant technology including instructional technology and Microsoft Office Suite.
