About the position

Teachers On Call, a Kelly Education Company, is seeking substitutes for various roles including Substitute Teacher, Paraprofessional, Custodial, Food Service Worker, and Clerical positions within local school districts. Responsibilities

• Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
• Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher's existing lesson plans.
• Teach students on a variety of classroom topics/courses.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
• Empower students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Adapt to the various learning styles of students.
• Provide classroom assistance to the district/school teacher and support to general education or special needs students.
• Ensure adequate supervision of students and classroom environment to assure health, welfare, and safety of students.
• Assist students in transition to and from classrooms, as needed.
• Assist in providing food service preparation and services to students, and other kitchen-related duties.
• Follow all food safety and storage rules and established sanitation procedures.
• Operate all mechanical kitchen equipment correctly and safely.
• Assist in money and meal accountability.
• Provide cleaning, maintenance, and custodial care services to the building and school grounds.
• Follow the school's cleaning and sanitation rules and procedures.
• Operate office equipment like printer, scanner, fax and related software.
• Sort, distribute, and date stamp mail and packages.
• Compose correspondence, prepare reports, and maintain documents, files, and records.
• Perform data entry, word processing, spreadsheet, and database functions.

Requirements

• Ability to lead and instruct students in a classroom setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to various learning styles and needs of students.
• Experience in a classroom or educational setting is preferred but not mandatory.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures for food service roles.
• Ability to operate office equipment and perform clerical tasks for clerical roles.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience working with special needs students.
• Previous experience in food service or custodial roles.
• Customer service experience for clerical positions.
