About the position

Richland Bean Blossom Community Schools is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as substitute teachers in Monroe County, Indiana. This is a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of students while enjoying the flexibility of part-time and full-time positions. As a substitute teacher, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education by stepping into the classroom and following the established lesson plans of the regular teacher. Your presence will not only help in delivering the curriculum but also in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for students. In this role, you will be responsible for leading instruction in various subjects, building positive relationships with students, and adapting your teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles. You will motivate students to participate actively in their learning and create an atmosphere conducive to education. For long-term assignments, you may also be required to develop lesson plans, administer tests, and grade assignments, ensuring that students receive a comprehensive educational experience. You will receive free online classroom management training, ongoing professional development, and paid orientation to familiarize yourself with district policies and procedures. Responsibilities

  • Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
  • Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher's existing lesson plans.
  • Instruct students on a variety of classroom topics/courses.
  • Build positive relationships with students.
  • Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
  • Motivate students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Adapt to the various learning styles of students.
  • For long-term substitute assignments, develop lesson plans, create, administer, and grade tests and assignments, and work 16 consecutive days or more.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older for all positions.
  • Daily Substitute Teacher: high school diploma required.
  • Building Substitute: high school diploma required.
  • Long-Term Substitute Teacher (16 consecutive days working or longer): Current teaching license required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a classroom setting or educational environment is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with students and staff.
