About the position

The Substitute Teacher position at Hemlock Public Schools involves providing instructional support in the absence of regular teachers across various local school districts. This role is crucial for maintaining the educational program and ensuring a positive learning environment for students. The position requires a minimum of 60 college credit hours, and no prior teaching experience is necessary. Substitute teachers will follow lesson plans, assist students, and uphold classroom routines, contributing to the overall educational experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide meaningful instruction to students in assigned classrooms while the regular teacher is absent.
• Review and implement regular teacher's routines, procedures, lesson plans, and curriculum objectives.
• Establish and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
• Report any student injuries, illness, and serious discipline problems to school administration.
• Perform other duties as directed by school administration.

Requirements

• Completion of at least 60 college/university credit hours (A copy of Official College Transcripts will be requested).
• FBI Criminal History Clearance.
• A Michigan Substitute Teaching Permit (We will apply for one on your behalf).
