About the position

As a Substitute Teacher at Sand Hills Center, you will play a crucial role in the Richmond County School System by stepping into the classroom when the regular teacher is unavailable. In addition to following existing lesson plans, you may also be required to develop your own lesson plans for long-term assignments. This includes creating assessments, grading assignments, and providing feedback to students. Responsibilities

  • Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies
  • Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher's existing lesson plans
  • Instruct students on classroom topics/courses
  • Build positive relationships with students
  • Assign reasonable tasks and homework
  • Empower students to learn and encourage classroom participation
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the ability and interests of students
  • Adapt to the various learning styles of students
  • For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans, administer, and grade tests and assignments

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High School diploma/GED
