About the position

The Tustin Unified School District is seeking a dedicated and qualified Substitute Teacher for Spanish at Tustin High School. This long-term position requires the individual to effectively carry out the responsibilities of a classroom teacher under the general supervision of the school administrator. The role encompasses a variety of duties including instruction, classroom management, and creating a conducive learning environment. The Substitute Teacher will be expected to engage students in the curriculum, maintain discipline, and adapt lessons to meet the diverse needs of learners. Responsibilities

  • Carry out the responsibilities of a classroom teacher under general supervision.
  • Provide instruction in Spanish and manage classroom activities.

Requirements

  • Preliminary or Professional Clear California Credential with CLAD/BCLAD certificate required or Emergency Credential.
  • Knowledge and skill requisite to work with students in the proper discipline and curriculum.
  • Technology experience and training in literacy acquisition development.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) desirable.

  • Three signed letters of recommendation (student teaching evaluations not acceptable).
  • A copy of your California teaching credential(s) or a 30-day substitute teaching permit.
  • A copy of CBEST results (Applicants who are credentialed out-of-state are eligible to apply with or without the CBEST).
  • Copies of all college transcripts (Unofficial copies are acceptable).
  • Proof of TB clearance (cannot be older than 60 days).
  • Fingerprint clearance - submit a copy of the Live Scan fingerprint receipt.
