About the position
The Substitute Teacher/Substitute Paraprofessional role is designed to ensure that students continue their education effectively in the absence of their regular teacher or paraprofessional. This position involves supervising students, implementing lesson plans, and maintaining a conducive learning environment. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Supervises students in various school-related settings.
- Monitors and evaluates student outcomes.
- Provides an atmosphere conducive to the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of children.
- Teaches or assists in lessons as outlined in the absent teacher's lesson plans.
- Assumes responsibility for pupil behavior during class, lunch, recess, and drills.
- Establishes and maintains good rapport with students and staff.
