About the position

The South Amboy Board of Education is seeking a Per Diem Substitute Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. This role involves providing classroom instruction and management in the absence of regular teachers, ensuring a productive learning environment for students.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom instruction in the absence of regular teachers.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Follow lesson plans and adapt as necessary to meet student needs.
• Supervise students during activities and transitions.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.

Requirements

• Childcare Substitute Teaching Certification
• High school diploma or GED
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience working with students
• New Jersey Standard Certificate preferred
• New Jersey Certificate of Eligibility preferred
• County Substitute License
• Fingerprinting for criminal history background clearance
• Physical exam required
