About the position

The Substitute Teacher at Community Service Programs of West Alabama is responsible for providing instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. This role involves performing assessment and evaluation tasks while adhering to the policies and procedures of CSP, DHR, and Head Start. The position is temporary and part-time, requiring flexibility and a commitment to working with children in an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform instructional tasks as directed by the regular classroom teacher.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations of students.
• Follow all CSP, DHR, and Head Start policies and procedures.
• Communicate effectively with program participants and staff.
• Develop effective working relationships with children and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or G.E.D.
• Enrollment in a CDA credential program or an associate/bachelor degree program in child development or early childhood education to be completed within two years of hire.
• Experience working with children.

Nice-to-haves

• Possession of a CDA credential or a state-awarded certificate that meets or exceeds CDA requirements.
• Enrollment in a program leading to an associate or baccalaureate degree in child development or early childhood education.
