About the position

L'Etoile Immersion School is seeking dedicated Substitute Teachers to join our vibrant educational community. As a part of the Spring Education Group, we pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment for students from preschool through 5th grade, where learning is enriched through a balanced approach that combines both French and English curriculums. In this role, you will be responsible for leading classes in the absence of regular teachers, ensuring that the continuity of learning is maintained within our school community. You will follow lesson plans provided by teachers, supervise students during transitions and recess, and prepare necessary work documents. Your ability to collaborate with other staff and integrate quickly into new classroom environments will be essential to your success in this position. The ideal candidate will possess native or near-native fluency in English and/or French, along with experience teaching in primary schools or working with primary school-aged children. A teaching degree is preferable, and previous experience as a substitute teacher is a plus. We are looking for individuals who are available for short-notice assignments, have strong organizational skills, and demonstrate kindness, patience, and a proactive approach. This position requires a commitment to maintaining cleanliness and organization in classrooms, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team setting. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Native or near-native fluency in English and/or French.
  • Experience teaching in primary schools or working with primary school-aged children.
  • A teaching degree is preferable.
  • Previous experience as a substitute teacher is a plus.
  • Availability for short-notice assignments (when possible, assignments are provided in advance).
  • Strong organizational skills, initiative, kindness, patience, and a proactive approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Central Background Registry number in Oregon.
