About the position

The Substitute Teacher position is designed to provide quality instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular teacher. This role involves maintaining a positive classroom environment that supports students in mastering skills appropriate to their age and grade level, while also fostering their social and emotional development. The position is part-time and follows the school year schedule, with compensation based on daily rates.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Maintain a classroom climate conducive to learning.
• Collaborate with regular teachers to co-teach and provide instructional support.
• Support students in mastering skills appropriate to their age and grade level.
• Foster social and emotional development in students.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Provisional, master level, or lifetime Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction certification preferred.
• Successful prior experience providing direct instruction to youth or community-based experience working with youth and their families is desired.
• Excellent communication skills, demonstrated empathy and compassion, and knowledge of content are necessary.
