About the position

The Substitute Teacher position at Guidepost Montessori is an on-call role that supports multiple mixed-age Montessori classrooms. This position is ideal for individuals who love working with children and are looking for flexible opportunities. No formal Montessori training is required, as training will be provided during orientation. This role serves as a pathway to potential full-time positions within the school, particularly as Assistant Teachers, as substitutes often transition into these roles when openings arise.

Responsibilities

• Provide coverage for full-time teachers who are out sick or on vacation.
• Support multiple mixed-age Montessori classrooms as needed.
• Engage with children in a warm and friendly manner.
• Follow the Montessori method and classroom guidelines during the substitute period.

Requirements

• Negative TB test within the last 12 months.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Valid state background check.
• Warm and friendly demeanor.

Nice-to-haves

• Early Childhood Education (ECE) units.
• Recent teaching experience with children aged 0-6.
