About the position

The Substitute Teacher at Harbor Point Behavioral Health Center is responsible for implementing lesson plans during the absence of the regular teacher. This role serves as a role model for students, promoting socially effective values, attitudes, and behaviors while providing developmentally appropriate classroom instruction tailored to individual education plans (IEP/IIP).

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans of the teacher during their absence.
• Provide developmentally appropriate classroom instruction according to IEP/IIP goals and objectives.
• Maintain consistent communication with staff, parents/guardians, and local education agencies.
• Display professionalism in all interactions with students, staff, and community members.

Requirements

• Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
• Two or more years of experience working with children and/or adolescents in structured settings.
• Knowledge of and ability to implement behavioral management strategies and de-escalation techniques.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
