Teachers On Call is seeking dedicated K-12 Substitute Teachers in Waukesha, Wisconsin, for the 2024-2025 school year. Whether you have prior classroom experience or not, Teachers On Call provides comprehensive pre-hire and post-hire training to equip you with the necessary skills to succeed in the classroom. This position is ideal for individuals looking to expand their skills while enjoying a rewarding experience in education. In this role, you will assume the responsibilities of the classroom teacher according to the school district's lesson plans and policies. Your duties will include leading instruction, teaching a variety of subjects, building positive relationships with students, assigning tasks and homework, and creating a conducive learning environment. For long-term assignments, you may also be required to develop lesson plans, administer tests, and grade assignments. This position allows you to work part-time or full-time based on your preferences and the needs of the district, providing a great work-life balance. Responsibilities

• Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
• Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher's existing lesson plans.
• Teach students on a variety of classroom topics/courses.
• Build positive relationships with students.
• Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
• Empower students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
• Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
• Adapt to the various learning styles of students.
• For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans, create, administer, and grade tests and assignments.

Requirements

• Associate degree AND WI Teaching License or Substitute License or Permit OR willingness to obtain permit with TOC's guidance.
• Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language fluently and effectively.
• No experience necessary; training is provided.
• Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Willingness to go through the licensing process if not already licensed.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a classroom setting (not required but preferred).
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles.
