About the position

Teachers On Call is seeking dedicated individuals to join our team as K-12 Substitute Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in your community by positively influencing the education of students. As a substitute teacher, you will have the flexibility to manage your own schedule, allowing you to accept job assignments online or via phone. Whether you are an experienced educator or new to the classroom, we provide comprehensive pre-hire and post-hire training to equip you with the necessary skills to succeed in this role. In this position, you will assume the responsibilities of the classroom teacher according to the school district's lesson plans and policies. Your duties will include leading instruction, teaching a variety of subjects, building positive relationships with students, assigning tasks and homework, and creating a conducive learning environment. For long-term assignments, you may also be required to develop lesson plans, administer tests, and grade assignments. Responsibilities

  • Assume duties of the classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies.
  • Lead instruction in the classroom by conducting the teacher's existing lesson plans.
  • Teach students on a variety of classroom topics/courses.
  • Build positive relationships with students.
  • Assign reasonable tasks and homework to students.
  • Empower students to learn and encourage classroom participation.
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
  • Adapt to the various learning styles of students.
  • For long-term assignments, develop lesson plans, create, administer, and grade tests and assignments.

Requirements

  • Associate degree AND WI Teaching License or Substitute License or Permit OR willingness to obtain permit with TOC's guidance.
  • Ability to read, write and communicate in the English language fluently and effectively.
  • No experience necessary; training is provided.
  • Entry-level candidates are encouraged to apply.
