About the position

Pittsford schools is seeking per diem, daily substitutes for the 2024-2025 school year. This position allows substitutes to work across the district or to select specific schools, subject areas, or age ranges based on their preferences. There is a regular and ongoing need for both half-day and full-day substitutes, providing flexibility in scheduling. The role of a substitute teacher is crucial in maintaining the continuity of education and ensuring that students receive the support they need in the absence of their regular teachers. Substitutes will be part of a collaborative team that strives to inspire and prepare students to be their best, do their best, and make a difference in the lives of others. This position offers an opportunity to engage with students and contribute positively to their educational experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide instruction to students in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher.
• Assess student progress and provide feedback as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents.

Requirements

• Two years of college education is required.
• Ability to obtain fingerprint clearance from NYSED.
