About the position

The Substitute Teaching Assistant position at Bright Beginnings Early Learning Center is designed for individuals who are passionate about early childhood education and are available to work on an as-needed basis. The role primarily involves supporting the lead teacher in the Bright Beginnings program, which caters to young children in a nurturing and educational environment. The Substitute Teaching Assistant will be responsible for assisting with daily activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of the children, and helping to create a positive learning atmosphere. The hours for this position are flexible, with a requirement to work between 9:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. as needed. This is a temporary assignment, less than 12 months, and the position is crucial for maintaining the continuity of care and education for the children when the regular staff is unavailable. In this role, the Substitute Teaching Assistant will engage with children in various activities, including playtime, educational games, and other learning experiences. The assistant will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and organized classroom environment, preparing materials for activities, and assisting with meal times. The position requires a high level of interaction with children, necessitating a friendly and approachable demeanor. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, able to follow instructions from the lead teacher, and willing to contribute to a team-oriented environment focused on the development and growth of young learners.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the lead teacher in daily classroom activities and routines.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required.
  • Preferred: CDA or Associates in Early Childhood Education.
  • Must have a clear BCSC criminal background check.
  • Willingness to undergo TB testing, drug screening, digital fingerprinting, and submit a health physical upon employment.
  • Must agree to attend CPR/First Aid training.
