About the position

The Succession Operations Specialist plays a crucial role in supporting the implementation of business succession plans for financial advisors and branch owners. This position involves working closely with Succession & Acquisition Consultants to assist in the succession and teaming process, ensuring effective communication and coordination among various stakeholders. The specialist is responsible for drafting and processing agreements, managing documentation, and providing administrative support to enhance business continuity and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a liaison with other functional areas and external stakeholders to resolve routine matters.
  • Assist branch owners and financial advisors in establishing business continuity and processing succession plans.
  • Draft, review, process, and record succession and purchase agreements.
  • Resolve inquiries from Financial Advisors and internal support areas.
  • Provide support activities for managers, including answering phones and managing correspondence.
  • Schedule and coordinate webinars, meetings, and travel arrangements.
  • Spearhead campaigns to collect catastrophic agreements as needed.
  • Establish and maintain files, inventories, and records, implementing data management systems.
  • Act as a closing specialist for succession cases, ensuring documentation is complete and accurate.
  • Stay current with securities industry trends and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in the securities industry, preferably with direct interaction with financial professionals.
  • Knowledge of succession planning, mergers, and acquisition best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with CRM and Salesforce systems.
  • Familiarity with financial service practice management.
