About the position

The Suicide Prevention Project Coordinator at Johnson County Community College is a full-time temporary position dedicated to enhancing student success and engagement through effective suicide prevention initiatives. The coordinator will be responsible for organizing training opportunities, serving as the primary point of contact for partnering organizations, and facilitating various suicide prevention programs. Responsibilities

  • Organize training opportunities related to suicide prevention.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in psychology, counseling, human development, health promotion, or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience related to behavioral health.
  • Ability to comply with government data collection and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent data collection, analysis, and interpretation skills.
  • Ability to work with collaborative teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree in psychology, counseling, human development, health promotion, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of education or career counseling experience.
  • Community college experience in Student Services.
