About the position

The Analytic Software Tester Intern at SAS is a dynamic role designed for Master's or PhD students, focusing on the validation, testing, and documentation of streaming analytics algorithms. Interns will engage in meaningful work, collaborating with the IoT Applied Analytics development team, and gain insights into the software development life cycle. This internship offers a unique opportunity to explore a career in software testing or development while contributing to business-critical projects and enhancing professional networks.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the numerical validation, testing, and documentation of streaming analytics algorithms.
  • Work closely with the IoT Applied Analytics development team to provide performance and usability feedback.
  • Conduct testing and validating analytics.
  • Participate in the software release cycle and gain knowledge of the software development life cycle.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD student majoring in Statistics, Math, or Electrical Engineering.
  • Programming experience in one or more of the following languages: SAS, Python, Lua.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities and initiative.
  • Interest in the future of Analytics and technology.

Nice-to-haves

  • Ability to handle deadlines in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Experience with developing & implementing test plans.
  • Experience with testing software.
  • Experience with multiple operating systems, such as UNIX.
  • Programming experience with matrix-oriented languages like SAS/IML, Matlab, R, or S-Plus.
