About the position
The Automation Engineering Intern position at Shamrock Foods Company is part of an 11-week summer internship program designed for students pursuing degrees in engineering fields. Interns will engage in hands-on training and work on real projects that contribute to the company's operations, particularly within the automation engineering department. This role emphasizes collaboration with fellow interns and provides opportunities for professional growth and development.
Responsibilities
- Provide support for the automation engineering department in an accurate and timely manner.
- Assist with the Obsolescence Conveyor Project.
- Identify obsoleted or no longer used items in spare parts inventory.
- Record speed, motor size, gear ratio, model type, and location of all conveyors in the building.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree from an accredited college or university with a focus on Automation Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Maintains a minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Must live in or near Phoenix, Arizona.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Strong sense of urgency and accountability.
- Demonstrates expertise in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Outlook, Word).
- Ability to learn and act in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective task management skills.
- High level of motivation and adaptability.
- Great attitude and desire to learn and grow.
