About the position

Ulteig is seeking talented and motivated candidates for a Civil Engineer Intern to work this upcoming 2025 summer season. The Civil Engineer Intern will have the opportunity to gain exposure in various engineering disciplines including Traffic Engineering, Planning, Transportation/Roadway Engineering, Structural Design, Structural Inspection, Hydrology/Hydraulics, and Construction Engineering/Management. This position can be hybrid from any of the offices listed, providing flexibility in the work environment. The Engineering Intern is responsible for performing fundamental engineering assignments and works from designs of others to compile data, perform design computations, and prepare engineering plans. The Engineering Intern will work under close supervision, receiving specific and detailed instructions required to complete tasks and meet expected results. This role is designed to provide hands-on experience and practical knowledge in the field of civil engineering, allowing interns to apply their academic learning in real-world scenarios. Responsibilities

  • Perform fundamental engineering assignments under close supervision.
  • Compile data and perform design computations.
  • Prepare engineering plans based on designs provided by others.
  • Gain exposure to various engineering disciplines including Traffic Engineering, Planning, and Structural Design.
  • Assist in Structural Inspection, Hydrology/Hydraulics, and Construction Engineering/Management.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years completed towards a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Previous internship experience preferred.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access).
  • Microstation experience preferred; additional software knowledge depending on specialization is a plus.
  • Must have permanent authorization to work in the US.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with additional engineering software relevant to the specialization.
  • Relevant military experience considered for transitioning service members.
