About the position

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. is seeking a Summer 2025 Civil/Structural Engineer Intern to join their renewable energy design teams focused on solar, wind, and battery storage projects. This internship offers hands-on experience in engineering design, working closely with experienced engineers and technicians to develop construction plans and support project permit applications. The role is designed for students who have completed at least two years of their Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and provides an opportunity to apply academic knowledge in a practical setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the development of construction plans for utility scale wind, solar, and/or BESS renewable projects.
• Work closely with engineering technicians and experienced engineers on multiple assigned projects.
• Learn design and production in AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
• Develop an understanding of typical design deliverables and assist in the production of plans and permits for various projects.
• Support and develop project permit applications.
• Understand federal, state, and local regulations and requirements.
• Collaborate across project disciplines to perform necessary design calculations, sketches, and plan preparation as assigned.
• Potentially assist project engineers in performing field visits.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years completed towards earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• AutoCAD Civil 3D or equivalent experience highly preferred.
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Must be able to work full time during summer 2025.
• Must have authorization to work permanently in the US.
