About The Position

The Summer 2025 Cohort RN Residency Program at Emory Healthcare is designed for new graduate nurses to gain diverse clinical experience in ambulatory services. Participants will rotate through five specialty areas, including Primary Care, Internal Medicine, Dermatology, Endocrinology, and Neurology, over a 12-month transition-to-practice program. This residency aims to support the acclimation of novice nurses to the nursing profession while providing tailored training and opportunities for career advancement.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited prelicensure nursing program.
• Currently licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
• Less than 12 months of nursing experience within the past five years.
• BLS certification required; ACLS may be required in designated departments.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in patient care settings prior to residency program.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the Nursing Residency Program (NRP) as a novice nurse.
• Apply newly acquired knowledge and skills to various patient care situations.
• Demonstrate basic assessment skills and recognize the impact of nursing care on patient outcomes.
• Document the nursing process accurately and evaluate patient responses to planned care.
• Identify patient and family learning needs and utilize resources to meet those needs.
• Develop time management and delegation skills based on the synergy model of care.
• Attend department-based meetings and meet attendance requirements.
• Complete annual regulatory/safety/compliance tests online.
