About the position

The Cybersecurity Threat Response Remediation Internship at T-Mobile offers a 12-week paid learning experience designed for recent graduates or current students. Interns will work closely with cybersecurity professionals to analyze and remediate risks identified during event investigations. This role emphasizes hands-on projects, collaboration with various teams, and the opportunity to develop meaningful skills in a dynamic environment focused on enhancing security protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cybersecurity professionals and internal partners to understand business operations.
  • Support root cause analysis of vulnerabilities with suggestions for remediation.
  • Engage with business partners to implement changes that enhance security with minimal disruption.
  • Conduct cybersecurity intrusion analysis and understand security incident investigation techniques.
  • Investigate security incidents, threats, and vulnerabilities.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of networking concepts (TCP/IP, topology, OSI model, network forensics).
  • Familiarity with operating systems (Windows, MacOS, Linux).
  • Understanding of web technologies (web applications, database security, web servers).
  • Proficiency in scripting tools (Python, Perl, Shell, HTML, PHP).
  • Ability to read and understand system data, including security event logs, system logs, and firewall logs.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with cybersecurity tools and technologies.
  • Familiarity with risk assessment methodologies.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO).
