The Financial Analyst - Intern role at Live Oak Bank is designed for students interested in gaining hands-on experience in the banking and finance sector. You will engage in financial statement analysis to better understand bank risk, aligning your efforts with the Credit Analyst and Business Analyst teams on several key projects. This role is crucial for maintaining the health and performance of Live Oak Bank's loan portfolio, and you will have the opportunity to travel and participate in customer service functions as part of your internship experience. During your internship, you will analyze financial statements from various industries, creating narratives that highlight the strengths and weaknesses of each customer’s financial situation. You will work closely with Financial Analysts to complete essential functions such as financial reporting, global analysis, and documentation. Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to handle customer requests, broadening your understanding of potential career opportunities within the bank. You will also have the chance to lead internal projects aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the group. Weekly attendance at Loan Committee meetings will provide you with educational insights into the decision-making process for loan approvals. Throughout your internship, you will be paired with a mentor who will guide you in financial statement analysis and the Live Oak Bank approach to cash flow lending, ensuring you receive consistent feedback on your performance and helping you develop essential skills in time management, prioritization, and organization.
