About The Position
The Gridtern Program at National Grid offers current college students the opportunity to gain practical experience in the energy industry. The program starts on May 27, 2025, and includes meaningful work experiences, professional development, networking opportunities, community involvement, and a fun summer experience. Participants will work closely with the Substation Engineering and Design team, which is responsible for implementing substation projects in the Upstate NY service area, including upgrades for renewable generation and new substations to strengthen the transmission system. The role includes site visits to various substations and reviewing design prints to understand how engineering work supports customer energy needs.
