About the position

As a Summer 2025 Intern in UX/UI Design at Stryker, you will have the opportunity to apply your classroom knowledge in a fast-paced and growing industry setting. This internship is designed for students who are eager to implement new ideas, be constantly challenged, and develop their skills in a collaborative environment. You will be part of an innovative team that is dedicated to changing the healthcare world by developing user-centered products that help caregivers improve patient outcomes. Your expertise in defining a meaningful user experience will be crucial in helping Stryker deliver on its mission to make healthcare better. In this role, you will work with a variety of technology-focused teams, using your expertise to influence long-range goals at Stryker. You will contribute ideas from early product concepts through to launch, generating creative solutions that enhance the user experience with our products. Your responsibilities will include the definition, design, and documentation of all user-experience related aspects of the product user interface. This includes developing user interface designs, screen layouts, navigation, user interface functionality, user notifications, alerts, and icons. You will advocate for the end user of our products, partnering closely with industrial design, human factors, marketing, clinical, and hardware and software engineering teams to implement and test designed interfaces. Although collaboration is key, you will also have opportunities to work independently, documenting, implementing, and troubleshooting to ensure that deliverables and work products meet and exceed Stryker's high standards. This internship is targeted towards students majoring in UX/UI Design, Computer Science, Graphic Design, or Industrial Design, and is an excellent opportunity to network with key stakeholders and leaders within the business while impacting the development and manufacturing of cutting-edge products.

Responsibilities

  • Develop user-centered products to help caregivers improve patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field or equivalent.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above at the date of hire, verified during background check.
  • Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employment-based sponsorship.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to exercise independent judgment.
  • Proven leadership and business acumen skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within changing priorities.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
  • Proficient in basic computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
