About the position

The Summer 2025 Internship in Electrical and Pulsed Power Engineering at Xcimer Energy offers students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in designing and building advanced laser-driven inertial fusion hardware and software. Interns will work closely with industry experts to develop systems for the world's first commercial fusion energy power plant, contributing to the mission of deploying fusion power plants to meet global decarbonization goals.

Requirements

• Enrolled in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree program in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, physics, nuclear engineering, or related discipline
• Application of technical skills outside of the classroom (e.g., extracurricular projects, volunteering, personal projects, laboratory research, or prior internship/work experience)
• Proficiency in CAD software for 3D modeling and simulation
• Strong written, verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Passion for fusion energy
• Ability to work full-time onsite during the 12-week internship program in Denver, CO
• Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee
