About the position

The Summer 2025 Key Investment Services Internship at KeyBank National Association is designed for students pursuing a career in financial advising. This 10.5-week program offers hands-on experience in the retail investment industry, providing interns with opportunities to work alongside Private Client Advisors, engage in meaningful projects, and develop essential skills in financial planning and client relationship management. The internship includes networking opportunities, training sessions, and mentorship, culminating in the potential to obtain the Securities Industry Essentials license (SIE).

Responsibilities

• Partner with a Key Investment Services Private Client Advisor (PCA) during the internship.
• Participate in client discovery and case studies.
• Assist in financial planning through data entry and analysis.
• Observe client meetings to gain insights into client interactions.
• Perform basic administrative tasks to support the PCA.
• Develop client relationship skills and interpersonal communication abilities.
• Engage in retail partnerships and networking opportunities.

Requirements

• Must be graduating with a four-year degree or graduate level degree by May 2026, preferably in finance, accounting, economics, or data science.
• Pursuing a career as a Financial Advisor and participating in the CFP program, with plans to complete the CFP exam prior to graduation.
• Outstanding academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Demonstrated leadership and teamwork experience from past work or extracurricular activities.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Benefits

• Hourly rate of $21 per hour.
