About the position

The internship at APAC Central Inc. is designed to provide students with valuable learning opportunities while contributing to the company's projects and tasks. This internship will last between 10 to 12 weeks and will take place in person within the Tulsa metro area, with housing provided for the interns. The level of responsibility assigned to the intern will depend on their prior experience and educational background. Interns will have the chance to engage in various job functions based on their interests and the needs of the company. These functions may include operating equipment, performing plant maintenance, conducting quality control testing, surveying, mine planning and design, engineering studies, opportunity trade-off studies, and project management. At the conclusion of the internship, interns will be expected to present their completed projects and tasks to the management team at Holliday's. In addition to the technical responsibilities, interns are expected to display a professional and courteous attitude towards co-workers, supervisors, and the general public at all times. They must report to the assigned job site ready to begin work at the designated start time and adhere strictly to safety requirements and company policies. A willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required is essential. Timely and regular attendance is also a key expectation for all employees at the company.

Responsibilities

  • Operate equipment as needed for various projects.
  • Perform plant maintenance tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Conduct quality control testing to maintain product standards.
  • Engage in surveying activities for project planning.
  • Assist in mine planning and design processes.
  • Participate in engineering studies to support project development.
  • Conduct opportunity trade-off studies to evaluate project feasibility.
  • Support project management activities as assigned.
  • Present completed projects and tasks to management at the end of the internship.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Capable of writing routine reports and correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with customers and employees.
  • Mathematical skills to perform basic calculations and interpret data.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and interpret various instructions.
