About the position

This position supports the engineering department at Entergy Services, LLC, specifically at a Nuclear site. The role is designed for rising juniors and seniors pursuing degrees in Nuclear, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering. The selected candidate will engage in various day-to-day activities that are essential to the engineering group, including data analysis, document preparation, and engineering tasks. The responsibilities will include conducting walk-downs, preparing documents, and performing engineering-related tasks as assigned based on departmental needs. The intern will support departments such as Reactor Engineering, Design Engineering, Systems & Components, or Engineering Plant Support. Key duties involve troubleshooting, conducting data analysis, and preparing various forms of documentation including spreadsheets, presentations, and interoffice correspondence. The intern will be expected to follow up on tasks in a detailed manner, manage multiple assignments, and work within deadlines. A proactive approach is essential, as the intern will need to forward work issues to the appropriate managers or supervisors. Additionally, the intern will support Reactor Engineering during power maneuvers and will work collaboratively within a team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the Reactor Engineering, Design Engineering, Systems & Components or Engineering Plant Support department with day-to-day tasks.
  • Conducts troubleshooting.
  • Conducts data analysis.
  • Prepares documents, spreadsheets, presentations, interoffice correspondence and copies.
  • Conducts follow-ups in a detailed fashion.
  • Handles multiple assignments and works within deadlines.
  • Is proactive in forwarding work issues to the appropriate managers/supervisors.
  • Supports Reactor Engineering on-shift during power maneuvers.
  • Works in a team.

Requirements

  • Pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in Nuclear, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher is required (on a 4.0 scale).
  • Some work experience beneficial but not required.
  • General business and accounting knowledge.
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office tools - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Strong and positive team attitude and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to understand the scope and objective of each assignment.
  • Meet access authorization and fitness for duty requirements of a nuclear power station.
