About the position

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. is currently seeking qualified candidates for a Summer 2025 Internship in the Substation Department. This internship is designed for individuals of high integrity who are eager to grow in personal excellence through the acquisition of technical and communication skills while supporting client success through project deliverables. The Engineering Intern will work under close supervision, receiving specific and detailed instructions necessary to complete tasks and achieve expected results. As a Civil/Structural Engineering Intern, you will collaborate with engineers to complete assignments and meet project deadlines. The internship will focus on structural components of electrical substations ranging from 69kV to 345kV, including the design and analysis of structural steel and foundations for both new and existing projects. Additionally, the intern may have the opportunity to work on utility and renewable transmission systems ranging from 34.5kV to 345kV. The internship will provide valuable engineering design experience, practical application of coursework, and essential workforce experience with a leading consulting engineering firm. Opportunities for site visits and training may also be provided. Ulteig is committed to creating an environment where exceptional talent can thrive. Responsibilities

  • Work with engineers to complete assignments and meet project deadlines.
  • Focus on structural components of electrical substations, including design and analysis of structural steel and foundations.
  • Assist in the design and analysis of utility and renewable transmission systems.
  • Participate in site visits and training opportunities as available.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years completed towards earning a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering preferred.
  • Specific coursework in structural analysis is required; steel and concrete design coursework is preferred.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
  • Authorization to work permanently in the US.
