About the position

Ulteig is seeking a Civil/Structural Engineering Intern for Summer 2025 in the Substation Department. This internship aims to provide a learning experience focused on technical and communication skills while supporting project deliverables. The intern will work under close supervision, gaining valuable engineering design experience and practical application of coursework in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist engineers in completing assignments and meeting project deadlines.
• Focus on structural components of 69kV - 345kV electrical substations, including design and analysis of structural steel and foundations.
• Work on 34.5-345kV utility and renewable transmission systems as needed.
• Participate in site visits and training opportunities.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years completed towards a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Specific coursework in structural analysis is required; steel and concrete design coursework is preferred.
• Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access).
• Authorization to work permanently in the US.
