About the position
The Summer 2025 TAB Mechanical Engineering Co-op at McKenney's is an entry-level position designed for students to assist in the day-to-day operations of the TAB department. The role focuses on learning about HVAC systems, NEBB standards, and supporting various projects under the guidance of the TAB supervisor. This position offers a unique opportunity to interact with project managers, customers, and technicians while gaining practical experience in the mechanical engineering field.
Responsibilities
- Assist field operations by scheduling projects and labor with the TAB supervisor.
- Communicate with technicians and project managers to facilitate the resolution of action items.
- Estimate project hours and costs for TAB project management.
- Review project specifications and contract documents.
- Build project quotes and proposals for customers.
- Create project documentation and edit drawings as needed.
- Review equipment and design values to ensure accuracy.
- Write RFIs to resolve design discrepancies in projects.
- Analyze reported field data for project insights.
- Ensure adherence to the equipment calibration program.
- Participate in the company's co-op lunch and learn program.
- Maintain opportunities in Salesforce properly.
- Communicate directly with customers to ensure timely receipt of proposals.
- Assist in sending out equipment for calibration.
- Read and interpret project mechanical drawings and specifications to determine proper balancing techniques and project management approaches.
- Participate in regular site visits and provide feedback to team members and supervisors.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED
- Basic PC experience in Windows environments
- Working knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications, and database software
