The UI/UX Intern position at Cabin Innovation is designed for students pursuing a degree in UI/UX or a related field. This internship will take place during the summer of 2025 at the GAC Savannah location. The intern will assist in defining interaction models, user task flows, and interface specifications, playing a crucial role in communicating scenarios, end-to-end experiences, and screen designs to stakeholders and development teams. The intern will typically be responsible for defining some features or enhancements on a project or product release, and will informally present design concepts and deliverables to the design team. Working closely with more senior designers, the intern will seek approval to move projects forward and drive them to completion, while also participating in both internal and external design reviews. The intern will gather user needs through various design research methods and communicate these learnings and requirements to business colleagues. They will generate ideas through sketches, mockups, and prototypes for testing with users, and will research existing design patterns and best practices to apply to design problems. The intern will critique and refine design ideas with UX team members, create user tasks, and conduct usability tests to evaluate concept directions. Additionally, they will create mockups and prototypes to communicate desired directions to development team members, and will create final specifications and assets for implementation. Collaboration with developers is essential to create solutions that balance business needs, usability, and development effort, while also supporting and improving the existing portfolio of products.
