About the position

Rockefeller Capital Management is seeking a Summer Analyst for its Advisor Performance & Compensation team. This position is part of a distinctive Summer Analyst Program that offers a unique experience within a premier independent financial advisory firm. The program is designed to immerse interns in the day-to-day activities of the business, providing them with opportunities to learn, grow, and excel in a supportive environment. The Summer Analyst will assist with various tasks related to monthly revenue and client asset performance reporting, metrics, and analysis. This role will involve collaboration with finance and product partners to understand the drivers of the business, which will help in creating efficiencies in processes and reporting to firm leadership. The Summer Analyst Program spans ten weeks from June to August and includes key highlights such as a mentorship program, a weekly speaker series, intensive training on the firm's business model, and opportunities for networking with peers and senior leaders. Analysts will engage in round table discussions on current events relevant to the business, fostering a deep understanding of the firm’s culture and operations. Candidates must be undergraduates in their junior year, in good standing, and have a keen interest in the financial services industry. The role is designed to provide a comprehensive introduction to the financial advisory field, equipping interns with the skills and knowledge necessary for a successful career in finance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with monthly advisor production and compensation calculation and statement reporting
  • Conduct monthly revenue trend reporting and variance analysis
  • Support the monthly RGFO Advisor Performance Tracking and distribution
  • Assist with the monthly close process, including account reconciliations, journal entries, and analytics

Requirements

  • High school diploma required
  • Pursuing a degree with a concentration in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business is desirable
  • Prior internship experience in corporate finance, accounting, asset management, or investment banking is a plus
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, x-lookups, index, match, etc.)
  • Ability to organize, analyze, present, and report on information using Excel
  • Strong ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and ability to reassess priorities as situations arise
  • Detail-oriented with a strong attention to accuracy and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to exercise discretion with confidential matters
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to express ideas clearly and concisely
  • Critical thinking and effective problem-solving skills

Nice-to-haves
