About the position

Rockefeller Capital Management is seeking a Summer Analyst to join its Information Security team for the 2025 Summer Analyst Program. This ten-week internship, running from June to August, offers a unique opportunity for undergraduate students currently in their junior year to immerse themselves in the firm's culture and operations. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive experience in the financial advisory sector, particularly focusing on cybersecurity principles and practices. Summer Analysts will work closely with experienced professionals, gaining hands-on experience with cutting-edge technology and tools that are essential for securing the firm's data and assets. Throughout the internship, participants will engage in various activities that promote learning and development. This includes a mentorship program aimed at supporting their growth, a weekly speaker series that provides insights into the firm’s culture and operations, and intensive training on the business model of Rockefeller Capital Management. Analysts will also have opportunities to participate in round table discussions on current events relevant to the business, fostering a deeper understanding of the financial services industry. The Summer Analyst will be responsible for driving enhancements across the control environment and threat defenses, staying updated on current cybersecurity trends, assisting in the development of security policies, and proactively identifying potential security issues. They will also communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to the cybersecurity awareness program. This role is pivotal in promoting a risk culture within the organization and driving risk reduction initiatives in collaboration with senior leadership and information security teams.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with colleagues in driving enhancements across control environment and threat defenses.
  • Stay up to date on current cybersecurity trends and threats.
  • Assist with the development of security policies and procedures.
  • Proactively identify potential security issues and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Communicate and present complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the cybersecurity awareness program with innovative ways to communicate the importance of best practices.
  • Partner with colleagues in information security, data and technology to drive performance metrics.
  • Engage senior leadership across the business to promote a risk culture and drive risk reduction initiatives with information security and data leadership.
  • Work with various security tools and technologies to protect the organization's systems and data.

Requirements

  • High school degree required.
  • Pursuing a degree with one of concentrations in Computer Science, Economics, Psychology, Mathematics, Data or Cybersecurity is desirable.
  • Thorough, organized, and able to learn quickly.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to multi-task and reassess priorities as situations arise.
  • Detail-oriented with attention to accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to exercise discretion with confidential matters.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
