About the position

The Summer Associate Intern at Hines will support senior management in various aspects of real estate investment and development projects, as well as asset management of operating properties. This role involves providing administrative and financial support, participating in project management, conducting financial analyses, and facilitating communication among stakeholders to ensure project success.

Responsibilities

  • Assist senior management with real estate investment and development projects.
  • Provide administrative and financial support for project completion and underwriting new market opportunities.
  • Participate in the management of development projects including feasibility analysis, entitlement processes, financing, design, contracting, and construction management.
  • Engage in asset management of existing properties, including tenant and investor relations.
  • Perform financial analysis of acquisitions and development opportunities using Argus and Excel software.
  • Monitor project budgets and schedules for variances and oversee contractor payments.
  • Assist in leasing properties and review lease documents with legal counsel.
  • Facilitate marketing of projects to investors and ensure proper documentation of project agreements.
  • Monitor project design information flow among stakeholders.
  • Work with personnel to design and implement marketing plans.
  • Develop awareness of market opportunities and support project design and site selection activities.
  • Serve as a member of various project teams as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA strongly preferred.
  • Three or more years of work experience with a professional organization.
  • Two or more years of related experience in real estate or financial analysis.
  • Ability to analyze real estate and industry trends strategically.
  • Perform numerical and financial calculations and analysis.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to think creatively.
  • Strong initiative and ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks within tight schedules.
  • Ability to leverage technology to perform job functions effectively.
  • Possess the highest degree of integrity.
  • Ability to withstand long working hours and handle high-pressure situations.
